How do we avoid viruses form usb drives??.........?

most of the viruses that infect my computer are passed on by some one's usb flash drive..... is there a way to prevent the auto run files(which we normally cannot see in windows explorer) from infecting the computer and still be able to transfer the required data??????.......

Simple. Insert the USB drive before the computer starts. Or disable autoplay by downloading a tool called TWAKUI. If you want to open the drive go to the address bar and then type the drive letter like e:\ and press enter.

turn off the auto run feature for all drives and then scan the drives with your antivirus before running anything. Even the programs like sandisks U3 which try to auto run won't run if you you cancel them out.
if your flash drive is a U3 you can download virus protection for it

if not you should have an uptodate antivirus software and do regular scans on the usb by right clicking on it and click scan for viruses

check download.com if you need virus protection or other software
