None of the peer to peer programs (such a bearshare) give you virsuses. Some of the sites from which you download them do. (They use the free bearshare to get you to come to their site) And any of the files you download with it (or any p2p program) can be infected. So there is no ''safe'' peer to peer program you can use for free music or other downloads.
