do torrents give you viruses or spywares or even slow down your computer?
Do torrents give you viruses or any spywares?best antivirus software
sometimes it just depends on what you download, I have had no problems but if you download software it may contain cracks and many antivirus programmes identify these as viruses because they make wide changes to the installed software ( make it a full version not crappy trialware)
But still i say no risk just false security positives
Do torrents give you viruses or any spywares?firewall
iv been using torrent for 3 years now never had a virus or any other problems
YES. As someone said, it ALL depends on which site you get it from. utorrent is nice and offers sites that are safe to look for torrents. You shouldn't use anything else. And IF you ever do get one from a trusted site doesn't mean it can't be infected. So scan it at Jotti.org or Virustotal.com
i use torrentspy and never had any problems
some of them do
they can do, that is why you should always scan before opening
depends which sites you use
Scan EVERYTHING you download, and you should do fine. I'm using Kaspersky Antivirus and it holds up well.
yes because you are downloading through an open port other things like pop ups and viruses get through as well
If you use public trackers and download software.. Then normally they contain some sort of backdoor.. Usually .WMV files are also virus ridden... Start looking into some private trackers
they will give you spyware/adware it you download a free program and you can only get a virus if you are stupid enough to download zip files , just download mp3's and you
should be fine but i recommend you use avast anti virus its awesome. its better than avg i did a test and avg didnt find as many as avast.
It all depends on the site you get stuff from. Proffessonal sites definantly wont, while some seedier sites that have their content illegaly probaly will. Watch out!
